I picked up a couple of these at Safeway yesterday. Right now the Ocean Spray Sparkling Drinks 4-packs are on sale for $2.00 each. I used the $1.50 off coupon from the MDA coupon book as well as a $1 off coupon from coupons.com that could be doubled (I think). This makes the price $.50 for a 4-pack!
I was in Canby Safeway last week and they still had a stack of the MDA coupon books at Customer Service!

Some Fun Mystery Catalinas Printing at Safeway!
Yesterday I was at Safeway and did the self check out. I noticed a CAT printed for a Free 8x8 Shutterfly Photo Book (a $29.99 value). I love these photo books and am really excited to get this. I've made books of each of my girl's births through other Shutterfly promotions. Very fun and easy to put together although a little time consuming gathering photos and arranging them perfectly.
While visiting a friend yesterday I noticed an awesome CAT pinned up on her refrigerator. It was a CAT for $3 off any $10 produce purchase! Oh how I would love to receive this CAT. She's not exactly sure how she got it but said she didn't think she had purchased produce when it printed. Puzzling?? Hope I can manage to score one of these too!

Don't Miss Out on the New Coupon Book!
My trips to Safeway seem to be less and fewer in between than before their double policy change. So, if you already know about this, sorry.
Back by the milk I found a back to school display with school lunch/snack type items. On each side of the display I found a rack with a Happy New School Year coupon book with $18 worth of coupons enclosed.

Tuesday Morning Gain & MDA Coupon Book Update
I was in Safeway this morning and noticed the MDA coupon books have been restocked. I also noticed there were only 3 bottles of Gain dish soap on the shelf. There were tons of both powder and liquid laundry soap left. Hope this helps!

Gain & MDA Coupon Book Update
I was in Safeway this afternoon and noticed the MDA coupon books were gone. I also noticed the Gain Dish soap was almost gone as well. There were about 10-15 bottles left on the shelves. I'm sure they have more in the back but this promo is hot and going to sell out fast! Especially since it's an instant $3 savings and a Catalina. I didn't check Gain Laundry Detergent but I did notice they are on an end cap towards the back of the store. Happy deal hunting!
Just a Reminder: MDA Coupon Books are In!
I found them yesterday near the north entrance in a MDA display. There weren't a lot available and there were several of us grabbing one at the same time. I'm sure they will go quick!

August Birchbox Has Arrived...Early!
Birchboxes usually ship on the 10th. They always email you with a shipping confirmation so I knew it would arrive early this month. Here is what was included in my August Birchbox:
~ June Jacobs Spa Collections, Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque
~ Quidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel (controls frizz in all climates)
~ Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
~ Shaveworks The Cool Fix Targeted Gel Lotion
~ Black Elastic Ribbon Hair Tie (kinda hidden)
I'm very excited about the Papaya Enzyme Masque. This is the kind of stuff I always want to try but am not willing to fork out the cash for. I am also super excited about the Humidity Gel. I have natural curls and am always looking for a better product to tame them. I recently filled out a questionnaire for Birchbox that asked me what I was most looking forward to trying. I mentioned styling products for natural curls so I'm thinking this is why I got this in my August box?? I'm curious about the Photo Finish, I do love Smashbox products as well as the hair tie. I am on the fence with the Shaveworks Cool Fix Gel. I might pass this on to someone else that has a problem with razor irritation.
When I filled out my Birchbox Profile I listed skincare as my biggest concern. I'm guessing (and hoping) they will keep the skincare samples coming. I'm hoping to finally find the perfect facial cleanser & moisturizer. I am very please with last month's sample of Philosophy Purity Made Simple and am thinking I may have found my perfect facial cleanser. I've only been using it a month but it seems to work great on sensitive skin.
Remember, for every 100 points you accumulate you earn $10 in savings on product at Birchbox online. I like to review all the products I try to earn 10 points for each review. Last month I paid reviewed 4 of the 5 products in my box and earned a total of 40 points for July. This month I'll review the 5 products in my box giving my another 50 points. Now I have enough points to redeem my $10 credit towards the Philosophy Purity Made Simple (received 10 points for signing up on the monthly "plan"). Sweet!!
Have I convinced you yet? My oldest daughter and I get really excited when this box arrives. She's not into make-up yet but she loves lotions, potions and anything blue! It's a fun "event" we look forward to each month. Feel free to use our referral link if you decide to sign up: https://www.birchbox.com/join/?raf=2h4il

A Couple Notes from Today's Safeway Trip 8/4/11
After working out I thought I'd use my $10 off $50 purchase as well as my $5 off $15 Frozen Items purchase coupons. Here are a couple observations after today's trip:
1. Yes, you can use both coupons noted above in the same transaction. I noticed a couple people asking this question on the couponing blogs.
2. Yes, our Safeway is stocked with extra Save $5 Instantly on $15 Frozen Items Purchase. This booklet also has other frozen food coupons in it. Please note the coupon excludes frozen meat & seafood.
3. Nope, our Safeway doesn't have the MDA Coupon Book in yet. I talked to a manager and she said they weren't in the shipment even though they were supposed to be. We should have them in our store within a couple days.
4. I did the Dreyer's Deal where you buy 15 Dreyer's items combined with mfg. coupons, store coupon & doubles and they had many of the shakes, smoothies & cups left. The cups weren't on sale for $1 but the smoothies and shakes were. They also had the single serve Magnum bars in stock but I didn't look to see how many were available.
5. This isn't a smokin' deal but I was excited about it. I found Colgate Wisp 4-packs on "Priced to Sell" or whatever Safeway's wording was. They were marked down to $1.29. Each of them had a $.75 peelie on them making each 4 pack only $.54 each. The coupon did say DND or I would have gotten them for $.04 each! I combined this in my $10/$50 purchase so I supposed I got about 20% off making them around $.43 each. I haven't tried these but they will be great to keep in our vehicles for those moments you just really need a toothpick or a quick breath freshening.
Happy couponing all and hope you are taking time to enjoy this sunshine!

Free Gatorade at Safeway!! 7/27 - 8/09
I just noticed the Big Beverage Event Mix & Match Sale starts today. If you buy 10 participating items (12 pack Pepsi, Gatorade, Propel are listed but I'm sure there are many others included) you save $.50 on each item. Way back in May I was able to score 4 of those $1 off any (3) 32oz Gatorade products peelies while on vacation. If you have these, here is how it works up:
Buy 12 Gatorade 32 oz. at $.49 each after $.50 discount
use (4) $1 off purchase of 3 Gatorade peelie
use (4) Doubl'rs
Price: Free (plus deposit)

Softsoap Pampered Hands Foaming Soap for $.49!
If you were lucky enough to print this coupon off brinks.coupons.com you can get it for $.49 at Safeway right now. Here's how it works up:
Softsoap Pampered Hands Foaming Soap (Raspberry or Tangerine) on sale for $1.99
use $1.00 off Softsoap Pampered Hands Foaming Soap Internet Coupon
use Doubl'r (-$.50)
Price: $.49
These coupons first became available on Friday but quickly reached their print limit. They became available again yesterday and when I went to print my second set this morning they had again reached their print limit. Glad I at least got the first two. This is a new product so hopefully coupons will be coming out in the RP & SS inserts!
Spices, Spices & More Spices!
Today I found tons of spices in the clearance section at Safeway. They had some on the shelves as well as 3 or 4 crates full. As for as I could tell they all have expiration dates that are several years out so you should be good to stock up. Also, most of them were the higher end spices so even at 50% off you had to know it's a better deal than the Safeway brand.
Here is what I ended up with (prices listed are the final sale price):
M&B Pure Vanilla for $8.45 (regular $16.95!!)
M&B Rosemary for $3.30
Red Chili Flakes for $3.60 (really...I just liked the jar but could have done better I think on price)
Cayenne Pepper for $3.50
I also saw Thyme, Oregano, Basil & Cumin but thought I could do better with those basics at the Dollar store or Walgreens. There were also many other spices, some of which I have never even heard of. There were also a lot of vanilla beans but I very rarely use them.
There ya have it now go get your spice on!!

Free Tall Beverage of Your Choice at Safeway Starbucks
This is the second time I've received this offer so I thought I'd post about it. I bought a coffee at Starbucks and when my receipt printed it gave me a survey offer. Go online, fill out a short survey, get the verification code, write it on your receipt, go pick up your tall beverage of choice for free! Don't forget to bring your original receipt and validation code with you. Limit one per household per month. Survey available for 14 days after your initial purchase. Beverage offer expires after 30 days.

Bic Soleil Razors for $1.49 at Safeway
As I was making a list for my Target run today, I noticed they have Bic Soleil razors on sale for $4.49. With the $3/1 coupon from 7/10 SS you can get them for $1.49. The problem is razors seem to be in hot demand these days. So...if Target is out we can take our $3/1 coupon to Safeway where the Bic Soleil razors are always $4.99. With coupon and double this brings the price down to $1.49. Happy shaving!

New Safeway Doubl'r Hits Molalla Safeway
Well, it was bound to happen. Here is a glimpse of the new Safeway Doublers. Not only do they have a new appearance, they also have much more verbiage to sort through and more restrictions. I'm sad they have arrived in Molalla. Hopefully they go away next week. :)

It Has Arrived...My First Birchbox, That Is!
In case you missed it, Hip2Save did a post on these really cool Birchboxes. For $10 a month you get 4 or 5 high end beauty product samples sent to your home. The samples are much larger than what we are used to and you often get full sized products. I happen to be a "product" junkie and love the good stuff. It's fun to try but I hate wasting money on it. I usually shop at Sephora. They treat me well and always have free samples of facial care products in the store for me to try. I have super sensitive skin so it's a great way to try a product before purchasing. Sephora will either give you a prepackaged sample or they will make one up for you on the spot. Love that place!!
Back to Birchbox, if you missed the posting, here it is: http://hip2save.com/2011/06/birchbox-spoil-yourself-for-10-per-month.html
Well, here is what I ended up with for my first box.
Contents Include: Redken 5th Avenue Shine Brillance Spray, Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer in Shay, Ahava Mineral Hand Cream, Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser and a Kind Almond & Apricot Bar.
I'll admit, the Kind bar kinda threw me for a loop but now I have an excuse to try a flavor I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise. My daughter and I both loved the Ahava Mineral Hand Cream. Made my hands feel like silk, literally! And the Zoya Nail Lacquer is brilliantly simple yet classy and feminine. I've yet to try the Kind bar or the Purity Facial Cleanser but will do so this evening before bed.
Thus far I am really happy with my Birchbox purchase. As a very busy stay at home mum to 2 little ladies I rarely take time to pamper myself. I have a feeling Birchbox arrival day is going to be something I truly look forward to each month. Cheers to busy ladies feeling pampered and beautiful!!

Just a reminder...DON'T STEAL OTHER'S COUPON INSERTS!!!
I know this doesn't apply to most of you but here's a little reminder to the rest. Please be honest in your couponing. I finally took the time to subscribe to the Super Saver Oregonian and somehow I am still left with no coupons. Why you ask? Because someone is stealing them! The first week they took our Sunday & Tuesday paper (I'm guessing since the Oregonian said they did in fact deliver them). This weekend they just opened the paper up, took the coupon inserts out and left the paper on the ground. Seriously? I'm sorry but who would do that. Complete lack of class in my opinion. I find this odd being that we live in the country (5 miles up above Colton), on a dead end road, last house on the road before a private gravel drive (with a couple other houses on it). Now I'm stuck paying for the papers and without the coupons. Thanks thieving couponer. What a lovely, kind thing you have done.
Can you tell I'm still a little annoyed about the situation? I'm sorry but I have to say it. I just can't believe people are willing to become a thief just to save a little money. To the rest of you, I hope none of you are having to deal with the same kind of problems. I guess it's time to cancel the subscription although my husband wants to set up the "trail" camera and catch them in action so we can turn them in to the authorities. That would be interesting....

Okay, maybe we'll keep Coupon Molalla for a bit longer....
I've had several people tell me they use the site frequently so I'm thinking I'll keep it going. I'm not going to make it my mission to do several posts each week but I'll do posts when I find a good deal. Summer is a busy time for everyone so I really don't want to drag my girls through the stores when I can be home playing outside with them. :) Stay tuned!

Sunday/Tuesday Oregonian Super Saver Subscription - $.99 per week
If you've been wanting to subscribe to the Sunday Oregonian for the coupons, there's a new subscription out just for couponers. It's called the Super-Saver Subscription. I found a card advertisement for it in my Early Edition Sunday paper a couple weeks ago and decided to give it a try. Here's the offer:
Sunday/Tuesday delivery for only $.99 per week.
Offer is limited to certain zip codes and 97038 is one of them! Offer also limited to those who have not subscribed to The Oregonian in the last 30 days. Sunday/Tuesday subscription will be billed every 24 weeks at current home-delivery rate of $23.76. This offer limited to one subscription per household. Offer expires 12/31/11. If you don't have one of the cards to mail in you can also sign up by calling 503.221.8240.
I first tried subscribing online but didn't see a check box for this subscription. I then decided to call the phone number instead of mailing my card in. I had to wait a couple minutes on hold but was able to set up delivery for this Sunday!

UPDATE**SOLD OUT** $25 Woodburn Company Stores Gift Card for only $12!
I'm very excited about this one. Hurry, IT'S ONLY AVAILABLE TODAY!! I shop at the outlets quite frequently! Anything from work out clothing to clothes for the kiddos, you can find it here. I've also found coupons for Coach and many other stores on the Outlet Gals Blog. They've redone their website so I don't know if they still offer the coupons but they post all the stores sales & events.

For more info on the deal: www.frugallivingnw.com/online-deals/get-25-gift-card-to-woodburn-outlets-for-just-12/
I purchased this deal myself this morning. I got an email directing me to print a voucher and take it to the Customer Service Office to redeem my gift card. I'll let you all know how it turns out!
*I found this deal under NW Portland and not SW Portland as they state on Frugal Living NW. Just a heads up to check both places!
**NEW UPDATE** I printed my voucher, went to Woodburn Company Stores Customer Service and exchanged it for the $25 gift card. The entire process took only a minute or two and that included showing them my identification. I then went to Adadis and bought some workout clothing from the clearance rack and scored some great deals!

Coupon Exchange?
What do you all think about setting up a coupon exchange? I'm not sure how it would work but I've been tossing this idea around for a while now. I am a bit of a brand snob so there are many deals I don't do because they aren't my family's "brands". I got to thinking that maybe someone else has that darn $2/1 Dial Lotion coupon I yearn for. I have so many coupons I toss out I hate for them to go to waste. And...with it getting harder and harder to buy coupons according to my earlier post, this just might work.
Any ideas? Any suggestions? Instead of a Mom's Club we can do a Coupon Molalla Club. Haha...okay, I'm kidding but really, I think we can make this work! Would simply posting a wanted coupon ad on this site work?

A Couple Notes From This Evening's Trip to Safeway
Here are a couple notes from my trip to Safeway this evening:
~ Safeway is surprisingly busy on a Saturday evening.
~ The Clearance Section is BACK! Not sure where it went but it has returned.
~ Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kits are back in stock for $.99 each. The $3/2 J&J coupons are still around too so don't forget to grab those.
~ They are out of Nivea for Men priced at $2.50. If you are interested in this product now's the time to get a rain check! This is another GREAT item to use with your $10 off coupon at the beginning of the month. $2.50 adds up fast and even if you use your doubles on something else you are only paying $.50 out of pocket each!
~ Nivea Lip Balm is back in stock for $.99. If you subscribe to All You Magazine you can use your coupon from the April issue to get them for free.
~ The Minute Maid Lemonade Deal the coupon sites posted worked for me but there were lots of beeps from the register and manually pushing through coupons. I don't think I'll do this deal again. To top it off they are wiped out of Minute Maid Lemonade with the exception of the Light...even in back.
~ Seattle's Best Coffee Single Cans are on sale for $1.25 (Free w/ coupon from 6/5 SS) but they are also wiped out. Not a single one in the store. I noticed a 4 pack that someone had taken one can out of. Since I had 3 of the FREE coupons I took them up front (in the case) and asked if they would sell them to me as singles. Of course they did but I didn't want them to think I was the one who had tore into it in the first place. I shop here a lot and don't want that stigma attached to me or my family!
Happy shopping!

Stricter Rules on Couponing? Most Likely!!
For some reason all the coupon sites out there are not willing to admit that the new TLC Extreme Couponing show has made an impact on our couponing habits/abilities/patience. I don't fully understand it being that I have definitely noticed stricter coupon policies, grumpier cashiers (can you blame them? really??) and less stock on hand. Yes, some of it is simply more people couponing but it's also more uninformed people trying to coupon (always know your store's coupon policy before you go). This combined with some pretty ingenious people coming up with new ways to save has left the stores & coupon companies reeling.
Finally, here is a coupon site that is willing to admit that all these changes are most likely a direct result of the show. I'm not bad mouthing the show...at all. I've seen it once and it wasn't really my thing. I'm just happy someone has finally decided to post about it. They also posted some pretty interesting changes that are currently taking place as well as some that may or may not take effect in the future. Check it out at:

I was also able to score some free Sure deodorant. I've never used this myself so it may become a donation item. I had 7 coupons so I couldn't pass up the deal!

*UPDATE* Travel Size Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kits Gone For Good?
I didn't get to Safeway in time to score on the two free J&J First Aid kits a couple weeks ago with the $3/2 coupon. I noticed yesterday that the tag and empty space for them has been replaced with another J&J product. Hope they get them back in stock but they seem to be cheap everywhere so I'm sure I'll still get to use my coupons before they expire.
*UPDATE* I noticed the empty spot was back. Not sure if they sold out again or if they are preparing for more.

I need your resources!
Do any of you know of local groups and/or organizations that need donations? I'd love to post them so we all have a place to drop off that free cat food, baby products, canned food, medical supplies, personal hygiene items or anything else we may have too much of or just want to donate. I've done research on fresh produce from our garden in the past so I'll have to dig that info up and post as well.

Safeway Deals June 1st-7th
At first I wasn't excited about this Buy 8 Mix & Match Sale. After all, some of the prices after the discount aren't as low as they go on a regular sale week. After going in this morning I have changed my tune. This promotion combined with the $10/$50 coupon is going to be great. Half the store is on promotion and there are tons of coupon match ups. I even found an abundance of peelies & blinkies around the store. My plan is to get my $10/$50 coupon (mine comes on Friday) then do a big trip. I always like the $10/$50 coupon so I don't have to deal with doubles!
Here are a couple match ups I noticed today. Prices reflect the after 8 mix & match $.50 off:
Rozoni Garden Delight Pasta $1.49
use $1/1 Rozoni Garden Delight from 5/15 SS
us a double coupon
Price: Free
Dole Fruit Cups (Parfaits & Fruit in Gel are included) $1.99
use $.50/2 Dole Fruit in Cup or $.50/2 Dole Parfaits 5/15 SS
(there are tons of Dole coupons out there)
use a double coupon
Price: $1.25 ea. when you buy 2
Hefty One Zip Bags $1.49
use $1/2 Hefty One Zip (sorry, can't remember date but it was in May)
use a double
Price: $.75 each when you buy 2
Seattle's Best Coffee $6.49
use $1/1 Seattle's Best Blinkie Coupon (can't double)
or use $1/1 Seattle's Best 12 oz. 4/10 SS
use a double coupon
Price: As low as $4.99 ea.
Cheetos $1.79
use $1/2 Cheetos store peelie
use a double coupon
Price: $1.04 ea. when you buy 2
Gillette Body Wash $2.99
use $2/1 Gillette Body Wash Coupon 5/15 RP
use a double coupon
Price: $.49
There is a B1G1 coupon for Gillette Body Wash coming in this week's Sunday P&G insert. I'm not sure if you can combine that with the $2/1 coupon to make it $.49 for 2.
Beggin Strips $2.49
load the Just for U $2 coupon for Beggin Strips
Price: $.49
Here are some of the peelies & blinkies I found through out the store. Some are old and some are new. I got tired of looking for them and stopped keeping track. My kids were done shopping. :)
$1/2 Purina Dog Snacks (Beggin Strips, Beneful Snackin Slices, T Bonz, Busy Bone) peelie on the Beggin Strips
$1/2 Dole Fruit Crisps (they are currently priced at $2 ea.) (blinkie)
$.75/1 La Creme Coffee Creamer (cooler section). I THINK they were priced at $2.49 each so they would be $1.75 - can't double them. (tearpad)
$1.00 off any meat with the purchase of 2 Weber Products (tearpad)
$.35 off 1 Weber Seasoning, 1 Weber Grinder or 2 Weber Marinade Packets (tearpad)
Lastly, I used the last of my Viva rainchecks. Sad, I loved getting the Viva Paper towels for $1 for a six pack. For some reason I kept getting a $5 Catalina for buying 2 6-packs instead of the $4 Catalina I should have gotten. It says that right on the CAT. Oh well, I'll take it!
Happy shopping all and feel free to share your scores with the Buy 8 Mix & Match Promotion!

This One's For Molly...
Since I know Miss Molly is a Rite Aid shopper as well as a Molalla shopper I thought I'll throw this out there. There is a possible policy change at Rite Aid (this is the part for Molly, not the latter, haha).
I was reading through Rite Aid's comment section on a coupon site and came across an interesting post. This poor gal went to Rite Aid, saw a peelie on a product she was buying and peeled it off to use at the register. When she got to the register the cashier didn't want to accept her peelie. Apparently some Rite Aid Stores won't accept peelie coupons unless they are on the product when the cashier rings it up. Okay, this is ridiculous since she obviously took it off the product while in the store being that there was the blank white spot where the peelie used to be. This is also ridiculous being that I currently have a Right Guard peelie in my coupon binder that came off a product I bought at Walgreens but didn't use because I had a better coupon for it. It's also ridiculous because I'll never remember to pull that darn thing off once I'm already at the register and will no doubt not get my money off.
Unfortunately there are more and more people playing the "coupon game" these days and not all play fair. Sad but true. The more honest we play the more deals will be available to us. I think we all have noticed the coupon pinch in the last month or so. It's interesting to me because I can honestly say I play as fair as I possible can. Yes, once in a while I'll double a coupon that says DND but it's not until I get home and someone has posted on a site that it's a DND and I secretly feel happy I didnt' know that before I went to the store. I'll call that an honest mistake. But things like clearing out the first aid kits that were free (seriously, who needs 8 first aid kits anyway?) and taking all the peelies off product you aren't buying are nothing but poor couponing etiquette. Luckily for us, I don't see as much of this here. Thanks for playing fair Molalla! Let's keep our local Safeway happy with us couponers!

Rumor Has It...
I've been hearing more and more that our Molalla Safeway is starting to be less and less flexible on their coupon policy. I've always heard of other Safeways not doubling internet coupons but ours always has. I've also heard that our Safeway is a little more lenient than most when it comes to their doubles. I generally don't try more than one set of doubles at a time and I rarely do back to back transactions. I'm curious if any of you are having different experiences than the norm at our Safeway?? If so, please post in the comments section below. I'd love to hear what's going on out there.
$.49 Crest Pro-Health at Safeway and more...
If you favor Crest Pro Health toothpaste, you can get it at Safeway for $.49 each through tomorrow, 5/31.

I did notice the tear pads for the $3/2 Johnson & Johnson First Aid Products. The small first aid kits were sold out as of today (probably a lot sooner). The regular price is $1.49 so don't forget to grab a coupon for later. They will be stocked again shortly. By the looks of the tear pad, many of you have already done so. :)
C&H 4lb. Sugar was sold out at $2.50 this morning. Today is the last day for that in-ad coupon so get your rain check if you happen to be in the store today!
That's about it for today. I didn't have time to go through the entire store so hopefully you all found other great deals over the weekend. There were a lot out there, that's for sure!

Safeway Savings 5/25 - 5/31
I went in this morning to get my $.25 hot dogs as well as to use up some of my P&G coupons that expire on Tuesday, May 31st. I didn't really see much not already blogged about but here are a couple things worth mentioning:
Quaker Granola Bars in the clearance section for $1.50 each.
About the Oscar Mayer Hotdogs...
I went in this morning around 10am and the hot dogs were completely stocked. When I got to my car I realized I had forgotten lunch meat. Grrrr. I figured I'd grab some more hot dogs while I was in there again. In a matter of about 45 minutes the hot dogs were about 75% sold out. You might have to get a rain check for these if they don't have a lot of back stock.
Extra bargain today on the Cottonelle Flushable Wipes. I did the "Getting Fresh With A Friend" promotion a couple weeks ago and got a coupon for One Free Tub of Cottonelle Flushable Wipes. They were on sale for $2.50 but the computer rang up a credit of $3.39 (regular price) for the coupon. I made $.89 on these today. Wish I had more of these coupons, my daughter has better luck with these than regular toilet tissue.
I'm going to be away from my computer through the holiday weekend with all the family activities and going-ons so everyone, have a great holiday! Please post any deals you find below under comments. Happy couponing!

I had another item with my purchase so my cashier doubled at $.50 each turning it into a money maker. Otherwise I'm sure she would have just done the $.25 each for the double.
On another note, I had to stop by Bi-Mart this morning. I notice there were $.25 Palmolive coupons with the Palmolive dish soaps. They aren't on sale at Bi-Mart right now but they are Mfg and don't expire until Jan of 2012 (I think) so they may come in handy before then. Not a huge score but worth grabbing a couple if you happen to already be in the store.

No Gatorade Peelies in Molalla
I was really looking forward to $.20 Gatorade but I didn't see any of the peelies in our Safeway. Did I miss them?
While getting my Starbucks this morning I also notice Safeway is out of ads with doublers in them. None at either entrance or customer service.

Starbucks Coffee in the Clearance Section
I found Starbucks Ground and Whole Bean coffee today in the clearance section of Safeway. It is priced at $9.99 so with the 50% off it's $5.00. I had a couple of the $1.50 off coupons from 4/17 SS that I was able to use and double. Starbucks coffee for $3 isn't bad!
Yup, You Get The Points!
I checked my Walgreens account this morning to see if the Old Spice and Gillette Body Wash bonus points had posted yet. Turns out the answer is YES! No matter how much or little you spend on promotions, you do still get the points. It was a money maker for me and I still got my 1000 bonus points! Also, I did the Old Spice deal where I used an Old Spice B1G1 coupon (so technically I only bought 2 body washes instead of 3) and I did get my points for that transaction as well. This is where getting points is more rewarding than getting a RR printed at the register. I read on one of the couponing sites that a manager refused a RR for a gal's transaction because she technically didn't buy 3 body washes as the promotion specified.
Hope this helps!

Updated: Safeway Savings 5/18 - 5/24
Not much going on at our Safeway this week that hasn't already been blogged about on other sites. Here are two things I did find while shopping this morning:
Viva Paper Towel 6-Pack Catalina is NOT printing when you buy 2 or more. I went to customer service and got my $4 refund. They kept my Viva Catalina "advertisement" that did print so they could call the Catalina company and see what's going on. Hopefully this issue is resolved soon! My daughter has dance class tomorrow morning so I told the Customer Service gal I would check back in with her after class. I'll post my findings when I get home.
Update 5/21/11 - I went in and talked to customer service today about the Viva CAT to see if it was printing yet. She wasn't sure so she went in back to find 2 of them to ring up. Unfortunately, there are none left in the entire store! I decided to just get 2 rain checks each good for 2 Viva 6-packs. I'll try my luck when the sale is over and the chaos over the paper towels has subsided.
We finally have the Nivea Lip Balm in stock at our Safeway. I noticed them on the $.99 display by the pharmacy counter & meat area. If you haven't used your $2/2 printables or your $1/1 from All You Magazine, now is your chance!
Did you find any deals I missed? Please post them!

125 Years of Summer Fun Coca Cola Coupon Book
Has anyone found this coupon book at our Safeway yet? I have looked a couple times but haven't been able to locate it. If you find it, please do post!
UPDATE: Looking back....
While my computer was on the fritz someone asked a great question on a Walgreens deal. Do you still get your points no matter what you spend (or in the case of the Gillette body wash/deodorant what you don't spend). The answer is...I don't know exactly. According to coupon sites you do. I just checked my Walgreens point statement and they haven't posted Sunday's shopping trip to my account yet. So, I'll keep checking daily since it should post anytime now and get back to you. I'll be glad to have this question answered and this was a great way to test since even without the points I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. Stay tuned!
Update: 5/20/11 My points still haven't been applied to my account. I emailed Walgreens to see why my transaction hasn't posted yet. I'll keep you updated as soon as I know something.
About that Safeway Fresh Ideas Magazine, I haven't been able to locate one at our Molalla Safeway. They did still have them in at the Canby Safeway today although they are still the March Edition. If you see them, please post!

Safeway Trip Today
After 3 days of not having my computer I was about to lose my mind. I forgot how much I use it in my daily routine (directions to DEQ, couponing updates & phone numbers). Since I keep my coupons itemized in an Excel spreadsheet I haven't been able to do a big shopping trip at Safeway this week. Here is what I found this morning on a quick trip to pick up a Starbucks coffee:
Santa Cruz Lemonades are now 2 for $3. With the printable coupon they are $.75 each and there are 4 lemonade flavors to choose from. The coupon does say Do Not Double on it or they would have been a steal at $.25 each!
Lunchables with Fruit are not on sale at our Safeway so don't rush in to get them.
Nivea Lip Balm is back in Safeway Stores for $.99. If you didn't get a chance to use your printable coupons last time, go get them while they're FREE! Coupons for $2/2 are about to expire. I happened to be in Canby today and they had them in the lipstick aisle as well as in the back of the store by the frozen chicken on a $.99 display shelf. Still not in the Molalla Safeway as for as I have seen.

Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade - Not On Sale!
Frugal NW Living posted a deal today on Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade on sale for $1.50 each at Safeway. Print the $.75 coupon and you've got yourself a great deal! Problem? It's not on sale at our Safeway. They are priced at $2.99 each. Bummer!

Better Than Expected at Walgreens!
I made the trip into Walgreens this morning and got some great deals. Here is one I wasn't expecting:
I did the 3 Gillette Body Wash deal with Gillette Deodorant plus coupons as they have listed on KKL and Frugal Living NW:
Buy 3 Gillette Body Wash (& 3 Gillette Deodorant) $10.00
(3) $2.00 Gillette Body Wash Coupons 5/15 RP
(3) Buy One Gillette Body Wash Get One Gillette Deodorant Free 5/1 P&G
Price: $4.00 plus 1000 points ($2.50)
The bonus today was the Gillette products were on a double promo of Buy One Get One 50% off. So I got an additional $1.67 off for the body wash and an additional $2.50 off for the deodorant.
Total Out of Pocket for this Transaction: $.17 Money Maker PLUS 1000 points ($2.50)
I love these kinds of surprises from Walgreens! Not the kind where things don't add up at the register. Watch those scotch tape coupons. Mine didn't ring up today so I had to get cash back!!

Here is what I have found unadvertised this week:
5/13/2011 Trip:
If you printed a Chiquita Crushed Fruit Snack coupon for $.75 off, they are currently not on sale in Molalla. I found them for $1.99 each. You could use the coupon and double to get them for $.75 each but I think I'll wait until they are on sale. I'm anxious to try them!
Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment 50% off on the clearance shelf. Too bad I didn't have my coupon with me! I paid right around $4 for it without a coupon.
Simple Nutrition Coupon Pamphlets back in stock. I found them next to the hot soup bar. None at the South entry. These have the $1 off a $5 purchase of produce.
Spring Savings Coupon Book is available at the Customer Service desk as well as in the yogurt aisle. There are lots of coupons inside for a total of $15 in savings. Get it while the cereal is B4G4!
Safeway Fresh Ideas Magazine is also available. I actually found this in Canby and forgot to look at our Safeway. It includes coupons for $1 off Baby Yellow Potatoes (expired), $1 Veggie Party Platter, $1 Naked Smothies (expired) and a free sample of Squiggles by Sun-Rype.
