This One's For Molly...

Since I know Miss Molly is a Rite Aid shopper as well as a Molalla shopper I thought I'll throw this out there.  There is a possible policy change at Rite Aid (this is the part for Molly, not the latter, haha).

I was reading through Rite Aid's comment section on a coupon site and came across an interesting post.  This poor gal went to Rite Aid, saw a peelie on a product she was buying and peeled it off to use at the register.  When she got to the register the cashier didn't want to accept her peelie.  Apparently some Rite Aid Stores won't accept peelie coupons unless they are on the product when the cashier rings it up.  Okay, this is ridiculous since she obviously took it off the product while in the store being that there was the blank white spot where the peelie used to be.  This is also ridiculous being that I currently have a Right Guard peelie in my coupon binder that came off a product I bought at Walgreens but didn't use because I had a better coupon for it.  It's also ridiculous because I'll never remember to pull that darn thing off once I'm already at the register and will no doubt not get my money off.

Unfortunately there are more and more people playing the "coupon game" these days and not all play fair.  Sad but true.  The more honest we play the more deals will be available to us.  I think we all have noticed the coupon pinch in the last month or so.  It's interesting to me because I can honestly say I play as fair as I possible can.  Yes, once in a while I'll double a coupon that says DND but it's not until I get home and someone has posted on a site that it's a DND and I secretly feel happy I didnt' know that before I went to the store.  I'll call that an honest mistake.  But things like clearing out the first aid kits that were free (seriously, who needs 8 first aid kits anyway?) and taking all the peelies off product you aren't buying are nothing but poor couponing etiquette.  Luckily for us, I don't see as much of this here.  Thanks for playing fair Molalla!  Let's keep our local Safeway happy with us couponers!

Baby Coupons Up For Grabs!

My baby is growing up so I no longer need these baby coupons.  Let me know if you need them and we can figure out a way to get them to you.  I get them from time to time and would love for someone to use them.

All are Mfg Coupons.  Here is what I have:

Safeway Mailer
(2) $5/1 Similac Product Exp. 11/10/11

Huggies Mailer (all expire 7/9/11)
$.150/1 Huggies Little Movers or Snugglers
$1.50/1 Any One Huggies Diapers
$3/2 Huggies Diapers
$.35/1 Huggies Wipes (64ct or higher)
$.75/1 Huggies Wipes (180ct or higher)
$1.50/1 Huggies Little Swimmers

Rumor Has It...

I've been hearing more and more that our Molalla Safeway is starting to be less and less flexible on their coupon policy.  I've always heard of other Safeways not doubling internet coupons but ours always has.  I've also heard that our Safeway is a little more lenient than most when it comes to their doubles.  I generally don't try more than one set of doubles at a time and I rarely do back to back transactions.  I'm curious if any of you are having different experiences than the norm at our Safeway??  If so, please post in the comments section below.  I'd love to hear what's going on out there.

$.49 Crest Pro-Health at Safeway and more...

If you favor Crest Pro Health toothpaste, you can get it at Safeway for $.49 each through tomorrow, 5/31.

Crest Pro Health $2.49 (with in-ad coupon, limit 2)
use $1.50 Crest Pro Health coupon from 5/1 P&G
use $.50 Double Coupon
Price is $.49 each

I did notice the tear pads for the $3/2 Johnson & Johnson First Aid Products.  The small first aid kits were sold out as of today (probably a lot sooner).  The regular price is $1.49 so don't forget to grab a coupon for later.  They will be stocked again shortly.  By the looks of the tear pad, many of you have already done so.  :)

C&H 4lb. Sugar was sold out at $2.50 this morning.  Today is the last day for that in-ad coupon so get your rain check if you happen to be in the store today!

That's about it for today.  I didn't have time to go through the entire store so hopefully you all found other great deals over the weekend.  There were a lot out there, that's for sure!

Safeway Savings 5/25 - 5/31

I went in this morning to get my $.25 hot dogs as well as to use up some of my P&G coupons that expire on Tuesday, May 31st.  I didn't really see much not already blogged about but here are a couple things worth mentioning:

Quaker Granola Bars in the clearance section for $1.50 each.

About the Oscar Mayer Hotdogs...
I went in this morning around 10am and the hot dogs were completely stocked.  When I got to my car I realized I had forgotten lunch meat.  Grrrr.  I figured I'd grab some more hot dogs while I was in there again.  In a matter of about 45 minutes the hot dogs were about 75% sold out.  You might have to get a rain check for these if they don't have a lot of back stock.

Extra bargain today on the Cottonelle Flushable Wipes.  I did the "Getting Fresh With A Friend" promotion a couple weeks ago and got a coupon for One Free Tub of Cottonelle Flushable Wipes.  They were on sale for $2.50 but the computer rang up a credit of $3.39 (regular price) for the coupon.  I made $.89 on these today.  Wish I had more of these coupons, my daughter has better luck with these than regular toilet tissue.

I'm going to be away from my computer through the holiday weekend with all the family activities and going-ons so everyone, have a great holiday!  Please post any deals you find below under comments.  Happy couponing!

Last Day for FREE Lunchables

Yes, I posted before that the Lunchables with fruit weren't part of the 4 for $5 sale.  I spent a little more time in the Lunchable aisle today and found that The Cracker Combos, however, are!  If you still have doubles you can make $.25 on each one through today.  This is my first Lunchable purchase so I bought one of each flavor to see how my girls like them.

Lunchable Cracker Combo $1.25
$1/1 "And For Mom" Oscar Mayer Cracker Combos from 5/15 SS
Double Coupon ($.25)
Price:  FREE (or $.25 money maker)

I had another item with my purchase so my cashier doubled at $.50 each turning it into a money maker.  Otherwise I'm sure she would have just done the $.25 each for the double.

On another note, I had to stop by Bi-Mart this morning.  I notice there were $.25 Palmolive coupons with the Palmolive dish soaps.  They aren't on sale at Bi-Mart right now but they are Mfg and don't expire until Jan of 2012 (I think) so they may come in handy before then.  Not a huge score but worth grabbing a couple if you happen to already be in the store.

No Gatorade Peelies in Molalla

I was really looking forward to $.20 Gatorade but I didn't see any of the peelies in our Safeway.  Did I miss them?

While getting my Starbucks this morning I also notice Safeway is out of ads with doublers in them.  None at either entrance or customer service.

5.21.2011

Starbucks Coffee in the Clearance Section

I found Starbucks Ground and Whole Bean coffee today in the clearance section of Safeway.  It is priced at $9.99 so with the 50% off it's $5.00.  I had a couple of the $1.50 off coupons from 4/17 SS that I was able to use and double.  Starbucks coffee for $3 isn't bad!

Yup, You Get The Points!

I checked my Walgreens account this morning to see if the Old Spice and Gillette Body Wash bonus points had posted yet.  Turns out the answer is YES!  No matter how much or little you spend on promotions, you do still get the points.  It was a money maker for me and I still got my 1000 bonus points!  Also, I did the Old Spice deal where I used an Old Spice B1G1 coupon (so technically I only bought 2 body washes instead of 3) and I did get my points for that transaction as well.  This is where getting points is more rewarding than getting a RR printed at the register.  I read on one of the couponing sites that a manager refused a RR for a gal's transaction because she technically didn't buy 3 body washes as the promotion specified.

Hope this helps!

Updated: Safeway Savings 5/18 - 5/24

Not much going on at our Safeway this week that hasn't already been blogged about on other sites.  Here are two things I did find while shopping this morning:

Viva Paper Towel 6-Pack Catalina is NOT printing when you buy 2 or more.  I went to customer service and got my $4 refund.  They kept my Viva Catalina "advertisement" that did print so they could call the Catalina company and see what's going on.  Hopefully this issue is resolved soon!  My daughter has dance class tomorrow morning so I told the Customer Service gal I would check back in with her after class.  I'll post my findings when I get home.

Update 5/21/11 - I went in and talked to customer service today about the Viva CAT to see if it was printing yet.  She wasn't sure so she went in back to find 2 of them to ring up.  Unfortunately, there are none left in the entire store!  I decided to just get 2 rain checks each good for 2 Viva 6-packs.  I'll try my luck when the sale is over and the chaos over the paper towels has subsided.

We finally have the Nivea Lip Balm in stock at our Safeway.  I noticed them on the $.99 display by the pharmacy counter & meat area.  If you haven't used your $2/2 printables or your $1/1 from All You Magazine, now is your chance!

Did you find any deals I missed?  Please post them!

125 Years of Summer Fun Coca Cola Coupon Book

Has anyone found this coupon book at our Safeway yet?  I have looked a couple times but haven't been able to locate it.  If you find it, please do post!

UPDATE: Looking back....

While my computer was on the fritz someone asked a great question on a Walgreens deal.  Do you still get your points no matter what you spend (or in the case of the Gillette body wash/deodorant what you don't spend).  The answer is...I don't know exactly.  According to coupon sites you do.  I just checked my Walgreens point statement and they haven't posted Sunday's shopping trip to my account yet.  So, I'll keep checking daily since it should post anytime now and get back to you.  I'll be glad to have this question answered and this was a great way to test since even without the points I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket.  Stay tuned!

Update:  5/20/11  My points still haven't been applied to my account.  I emailed Walgreens to see why my transaction hasn't posted yet.  I'll keep you updated as soon as I know something.

About that Safeway Fresh Ideas Magazine, I haven't been able to locate one at our Molalla Safeway.  They did still have them in at the Canby Safeway today although they are still the March Edition.  If you see them, please post!

Safeway Trip Today

After 3 days of not having my computer I was about to lose my mind.  I forgot how much I use it in my daily routine (directions to DEQ, couponing updates & phone numbers).  Since I keep my coupons itemized in an Excel spreadsheet I haven't been able to do a big shopping trip at Safeway this week.  Here is what I found this morning on a quick trip to pick up a Starbucks coffee:

Santa Cruz Lemonades are now 2 for $3.  With the printable coupon they are $.75 each and there are 4 lemonade flavors to choose from.  The coupon does say Do Not Double on it or they would have been a steal at $.25 each!

Lunchables with Fruit are not on sale at our Safeway so don't rush in to get them.

Nivea Lip Balm is back in Safeway Stores for $.99.  If you didn't get a chance to use your printable coupons last time, go get them while they're FREE!  Coupons for $2/2 are about to expire.  I happened to be in Canby today and they had them in the lipstick aisle as well as in the back of the store by the frozen chicken on a $.99 display shelf.  Still not in the Molalla Safeway as for as I have seen.

Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade - Not On Sale!

Frugal NW Living posted a deal today on Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade on sale for $1.50 each at Safeway.  Print the $.75 coupon and you've got yourself a great deal!  Problem?  It's not on sale at our Safeway.  They are priced at $2.99 each. Bummer!

5.15.2011

Better Than Expected at Walgreens!

I made the trip into Walgreens this morning and got some great deals.  Here is one I wasn't expecting:

I did the 3 Gillette Body Wash deal with Gillette Deodorant plus coupons as they have listed on KKL and Frugal Living NW:

Buy 3 Gillette Body Wash (& 3 Gillette Deodorant) $10.00
(3) $2.00 Gillette Body Wash Coupons 5/15 RP
(3) Buy One Gillette Body Wash Get One Gillette Deodorant Free 5/1 P&G
Price: $4.00 plus 1000 points ($2.50)

The bonus today was the Gillette products were on a double promo of Buy One Get One 50% off.  So I got an additional $1.67 off for the body wash and an additional $2.50 off for the deodorant.

Total Out of Pocket for this Transaction:  $.17 Money Maker PLUS 1000 points ($2.50)

I love these kinds of surprises from Walgreens!  Not the kind where things don't add up at the register.  Watch those scotch tape coupons.  Mine didn't ring up today so I had to get cash back!!

Safeway Savings 5/11-5/17

Leave a comment below if you have found a great deal at Safeway or any other store in Molalla, Oregon.

Here is what I have found unadvertised this week:

5/13/2011 Trip:

If you printed a Chiquita Crushed Fruit Snack coupon for $.75 off, they are currently not on sale in Molalla.  I found them for $1.99 each.  You could use the coupon and double to get them for $.75 each but I think I'll wait until they are on sale.  I'm anxious to try them!

Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment 50% off on the clearance shelf.  Too bad I didn't have my coupon with me!  I paid right around $4 for it without a coupon.

Simple Nutrition Coupon Pamphlets back in stock.  I found them next to the hot soup bar.  None at the South entry.  These have the $1 off a $5 purchase of produce.

Spring Savings Coupon Book is available at the Customer Service desk as well as in the yogurt aisle.  There are lots of coupons inside for a total of $15 in savings.  Get it while the cereal is B4G4!

Safeway Fresh Ideas Magazine is also available.  I actually found this in Canby and forgot to look at our Safeway.  It includes coupons for $1 off Baby Yellow Potatoes (expired), $1 Veggie Party Platter, $1 Naked Smothies (expired) and a free sample of Squiggles by Sun-Rype.  I found it on a shelf up against a produce display.
